Orders and payment
How do I pay?
By bank transfer against an emailed invoice. Place the order, and within one business day we email an invoice with the bank details; your order ships once the transfer has cleared. Card payment at checkout is coming and will be announced here. Payments are received by the company that operates this store, so the name on your statement can differ from the store name.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Yes, until it ships. Email [email protected] with your order number and the change you need. If the invoice is already paid and you cancel, we refund the full amount by bank transfer.
Do you offer gift notes?
Yes. Add a note in the order comments at checkout and we write it on a plain card. Parcels never contain a price list.
Delivery
How much is shipping?
Every US order ships flat rate for $9.95 by USPS Priority and arrives in 2 to 3 business days.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not at the moment. We ship to all fifty states and to APO and FPO addresses.
How is paper packed?
Sketchbooks and blocks are wrapped in kraft paper and boxed with corner guards so they arrive flat. Easels and drawing boards travel in their own carton at no extra charge.
Returns
Can I return something?
Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to return any item in unused condition for a refund. Email [email protected] with your order number and we will send return instructions.
What if something arrives damaged?
Send a photo to [email protected] within seven days of delivery. We replace or refund it, whichever you prefer, and cover the return.
Materials and products
What does the paper weight mean?
It is the weight of a ream of that paper, in pounds, with the metric grams per square metre alongside. Heavier paper takes more water before it cockles. 100 lb is for dry media, 140 lb cotton is for watercolor. The size and care guide has a full chart.
Are refills available for the box sets?
Yes. Every item in the Charcoal and Graphite Box Set and the Complete Sketching Kit is a full-size piece we also sell on its own, so you can replace a single pencil, a pan or the sketchbook.
Where are your products made?
Sketchbooks are made in Oregon, canvas goods in Ohio, walnut boxes and the tabletop easel in North Carolina, the drawing board in Michigan, the field easel in Portugal and watercolor pans in Wisconsin. Each listing says where it is made.
Which kit should a beginner start with?
For drawing only, the Beginner Drawing Kit at $42 covers the first weeks. If they want color too, the Complete Sketching Kit has graphite, charcoal, colored pencils and watercolor in one box.
